Rutte probeert op NAVO-top te voorkomen dat Trump hoort in welk land Brussel ligt

“Ik dacht dat we hier ambtenaren voor hadden”, zucht Rutte. Na de WK-wedstrijd VS-België van vannacht staat het voortbestaan van de Amerikaans-Europese samenwerking wederom op het spel. Nu is het aan Rutte om te voorkomen dat Trump doorkrijgt in welk land Brussel ligt.

Het belooft nog een flinke uitdaging te worden: Donald Trump is bij de NAVO-top in Istanbul hard op zoek naar de Belgische delegatie. “They are corrupt. So corrupt, you can’t even imagine how corrupt they are”, aldus Trump. “I hope they aren’t a part of EU. EU shouldn’t give them a cent. Where is their president, I’d like to have a word with that bastard.”

“What is Brussel’s stand on this? Are they supporting this shithole country?” Rutte lacht en kijkt in paniek om zich heen. De Belgische premier Bart De Wever doet alsof hij het niet doorheeft. Het worden twee lange dagen.
